DARIO POLVANI

Dario Polvani was born in Arezzo where he lives and works. He has taken part in several regional and national competitions getting more than 100 awards; among them the prize of the “Concorso Nazionale di Pittura di Fighille 2003” (Fighille National Painting Competition). In 1989 and 1994 he painted il “Palio della Balestra” of Sansepolcro. His workpieces are to be found at different churches in Arezzo in the areas of Pieve a Quarto, Santa Firmina, in the Church of San Lorenzo di Bastia Umbra and in several private collections. Dario Polvani talks about himself: “I started looking at my uncle Giovanni who used to decorate his bull charriots; he lived as a farmer but was deep under an artist and i have never forgotten those atmospheres and those colours… It is as if there was a filter on my eyes that would soften all colours, fading them away”. The result is an original and astonishing style that has often obtained unanimous plaudit.
