The artist studied both in his home town of Forlì as well as at the Brera Fine Arts Academy in Milan (a center of important national avant-garde art movements) where during the 1970’s Erani met several important artists such as Giovanni Cappelli, Walter Cremonini, Giancarlo Giannini and Luigi Timoncini. Thanks to this early experience he develops his art and is awarded important art prizes, earning also the possibility to bring his art abroad, mostly in the USA. One of the most important phases of his work was his residing for almost 10 years in Las Vegas during which he made friends with Roy Linchtenstein and Andy Warhol.
Erani constantly improves his own artistic techniques, his methods of representation and the use of colour by observing the world around him. Uncontaminated by the trends of the moment, he is instead inspired by them, being capable of bringing about further creative energy. His paintings are actual Frescoes on wood board, a technique with which the artist finds perfect harmony between definition and nuance, between figurative and abstraction.
